Your first photo stop will be at Fort San Felipe, which is also known as El Morro de San Felipe. Commissioned by King Felipe II of Spain in 1564 it wasn't completed until 1577. Its strategic location helped to guard the entrance to the city's seaport for hundreds of years.

Next, you'll stop for views and photos of the famed Neptune Statue which is situated on a small island just off the coast. Although quite impressive now, this statue has seen its share of woes. The 22 ft. bronze sculpture has been hacked for valuable metal, toppled over several times, and finally hacked to bits. However, the Islanders have a true love for their guardian of the sea and it was returned to its full glory and now, with the support of 3 cables, once again rules the sea.

Your next sightseeing excursion stop will be at the Parque Independencia, which is the center of town. With churches, gazebos, scattered benches, and local music often playing, it is a true taste of Puerto Plata.

Finally, you will be taken to Playa Dorado, known as the "Golden Beach" of Puerto Plata, which is located near the famous Hotel Blue JackTar, where a welcome drink awaits you. • The minimum age for alcohol consumption is 18 years old. 
• Guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent.
• Guests must fit comfortably in one seat only on the bus/van.
• This excursion is not wheelchair accessible.
• All participants must be able to stand and walk completely unassisted and be able to navigate narrow streets; uneven terrain declines/inclines and sandy areas.

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
